Joshua M. Alpert, MD
Dr. Joshua Alpert is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopedic surgeon with Fox Valley Orthopedics in Elgin and Barrington Illinois. He completed his sports medicine fellowship at Harvard/Massachusetts General Hospital. He currently takes care of student athletes at Judson University, Larkin, Elgin, and Dundee Crown High Schools, as well as the Chicago Inferno Soccer team. In 2018 and 2019, he was named to Chicago Magazine’s prestigious list of top Orthopedic Doctors.
Dr. Alpert’s primary focus is on getting his patients back to their activities quickly, whether using non-invasive treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cell therapies or minimally invasive surgical techniques. When conservative care has failed, Dr. Alpert performs knee arthroscopy (meniscus or ACL tears) and shoulder arthroscopy (Rotator Cuff, Laral tears), as well as shoulder replacements for arthritis.
In addition to treating sports injuries, Dr. Alpert also commonly sees patients with work-related injuries and performs independent medical examinations and impairment ratings. A lifelong athlete, he understands his patients’ desire to return to work, school, life, and sports not only healed, but better than before their injury.
