Mark Long
Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs
Ametros
Mark provides thoughtful insight and leadership on regulatory, policy, and strategic initiatives at Ametros. He has more than 30 years of industry experience that spans from claims examiner to executive level management in both government and the insurance industry.
Prior to Ametros, Mark was the Assistant Vice President of Claims at ESIS, Inc. with both regional and national claims responsibilities. Previously, he had a very successful career in state government holding roles as the Director of Workers’ Compensation and Senior Deputy Director of WC for the State of Michigan.
Mark is active with the Workers’ Compensation Research Institute currently serving on their research committee and previously as a member of the Michigan advisory team. In addition, in 2023 Mark was the Board President of the International Association of Industrial Accident Boards and Commissions after serving as an officer and at-large board member.
Mark holds a Master of Science in Human Resources Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University. Mark is married with two daughters and enjoys spending time with family and playing golf.

Tyler Berberich (Moderator)

Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates, Ltd.
Tyler Berberich is a partner at Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates. He has devoted his entire legal career to representing clients before the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, as well as in circuit and appellate courts.
Tyler grew up in southern Michigan and attended Michigan State University, receiving a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 2005. In 2008, Tyler earned his J.D. from Chicago Kent College of Law. He began his legal career in Springfield, Illinois before moving back to Chicago to join Horwitz, Horwitz & Associates in 2010. Over the course of his legal career, Tyler has tried numerous complex workers’ compensation claims. He has also presented on workers’ compensation related issues at seminars and for various groups.
Prior to joining the WCLA board of directors, Tyler was an active member of the organization for many years, beginning in the young lawyers section.
Outside of work, Tyler enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, coaching his daughters’ sports teams and watching Kansas City and Michigan State sports.
