Dr. Ashraf Darwish offers comprehensive care solutions, allowing patients to return quickly to active and healthy lifestyles. His main interests in orthopaedics are diagnosing and treating disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

The cornerstone of Dr. Darwish’s care philosophy is to utilize surgery as the last option. He often recommends nonsurgical solutions for the relief of neck and back pain including diagnostic procedures, pain management, physical therapy, and return to work programs.

For patients who are good surgical candidates, Dr. Darwish has had extensive training in procedures that range from common to the more complex, such as minimally invasive surgery, microsurgery, decompression and fusion, and deformity correction.

Cowan Brown, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS

Cowan has work experience in orthopedics, sports medicine, vestibular and concussion management, TMJ dysfunction, neurology, and work-related injuries. He continues to expand his education and has become a certified strength and condition specialist (CSCS).  This skill set has allowed him a greater ability to work with the athletes and work conditioning patients, helping them regain full function and beyond.

    Michael Brown, PT, DPT

Mike continues to expand his education to better help his patients reach their personal goals as he is certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization and dry needling which are very useful in reducing tension in muscle tissue and helping to release muscle trigger points.  Mike also uses dermal-fascial release in treatments in order to loosen tension in superficial tissues and scar tissue.

Dr. Giridhar Burra was one of the first surgeons in the Chicago area to receive board certification in sports medicine. He completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute under Dr. James R. Andrews, receiving specialized training and extensive experience in treating athletes with throwing injuries. During his career Dr. Burra has treated athletes from the Chicago White Sox, New York Jets, Rangers, and Islanders professional sports teams. He also is the orthopaedic surgeon of choice for the Joliet Slammers semi-professional baseball team, as well as numerous college and high school athletes.

Dr. Burra is an author of numerous research papers on the mechanics of the rotator cuff and articles on athletic injuries of the shoulder and elbow. He is a featured lecturer, both nationally and internationally, on the management of sports injuries. He is also a recognized leader in the training of surgeons across Latin America and Asia.

He is internationally recognized for his contributions to the field of sports medicine injuries through minimally invasive techniques as well as for being a pioneer in novel biological treatments. Dr. Chahla’s approach is based on a philosophy that each individual procedure is specific and customized to the individual needs of each patient. He uses minimally invasive arthroscopic techniques that help reduce recovery time. Dr. Chahla’s focus is not only a patient’s full recovery, but the speed of that recovery to return to sport.
