Narendra Patel, DPM

Doctor Narendra Patel is a Board-Certified podiatric foot and ankle surgeon. He specializes in foot, ankle, and lower leg deformity and the fracture correction, total ankle replacement, Charcot reconstruction, achilles repair and reconstruction, sports injuries and nerve repair.

As a dedicated podiatric surgeon, doctor Patel focuses on restoring his patients to their optimal functional ability as quickly as possible.

Howard Freedberg, MD

Suburban Orthopaedics

Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon whose expertise includes complex reconstructions, including the ACL, Hip and Knee Replacements.  

With over 31 years of orthopaedic experience, Dr. Freedberg is known locally as “The Knee Expert.” Most recently, he developed an innovative double bundle ACL Reconstruction Technique in conjunction with Biomet that is now being recognized and implemented internationally. Beyond knees, Dr. Freedberg provides a complete range of orthopaedic surgical services including full and partial joint replacement. He is certified in Mako™ Robotic-Arm Assisted Surgery and uses VERASENSE™ sensor technology to deliver the best possible outcomes in this advanced joint replacement procedure.

In addition to serving as an instructor for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Freedberg is a consulting physician to the Player’s Association for the NFL and MLB and is a team physician for five local high schools. He lectures on his techniques and theories on various subjects, including knee reconstructions and the shoulder. He has published numerous articles on the subject of arthroscopy and is presently involved in research on the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) with a revolutionary computerized knee testing device.

Dr. Freedberg believes that each patient deserves the utmost in service, and he takes extra time in providing individualized care. In his free time Dr. Freedberg likes to keep fit and is an avid biker.

Matthew Colman, MD

Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush

Dr. Matthew Colman specializes in spine surgery and musculoskeletal oncology. 

Dr. Colman completed his undergraduate training cum laude with honors from Dartmouth College, earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Chicago, IL, and went on to complete his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. 

He has been fellowship trained in pediatric and adult musculoskeletal oncology at Harvard University and orthopedic and neurosurgical spine surgery at the University of Utah. 

Dr. Colman has an interest in treating bone and soft tissue tumors wherever they occur, including the spine. He also treats a comprehensive set of non-tumor-related spinal problems, including degenerative disease, deformity, and trauma. 

He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), AOSpine, the North American Spine Society, and Alpha Omega Alpha, University of Chicago Chapter.

Anthony Savino, MD

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC

Dr. Anthony Savino is a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in sports neurology. In addition to the treatment of all adult neurological disorders, he specializes in the management of concussion, neurological disorders including headache, sleep or mood problems and maintenance of long-term brain health in athletes of any age.

Dr. Savino’s interests include management of acute concussion, autonomic dysfunction in concussion, treatment of post-concussion syndrome, and post-concussion headache. During his fellowship he collaborated on a long-term research study of head trauma in youth and high school football players. This study examined the potential sequelae of repetitive hits to the head over time through measurements of head impacts by helmet sensors and extensive brain function tests before and after each football season.

He completed his residency in Neurology at Boston University Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident during his final year of training. Dr.

Savino obtained his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Christine Jagodzinski is a shareholder at Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie, & Lowry, P.C., a Chicago-based workers’ compensation defense firm representing employers in the Midwest. Ms. Jagodzinski has defended workers’ compensation claims on behalf of employers and insurance companies in Illinois for the last 18 years, frequently trying cases and handling appeals. She also enjoys lecturing on topics involving workers’ compensation.

In 1998, Ms. Jagodzinski received her B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Loyola University Chicago, graduating Summa Cum Laude with Honors and Phi Beta Kappa while playing volleyball for Loyola. In 2000, she received a master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Loyola University Chicago. Ms. Jagodzinski later earned her J.D. from Loyola University Chicago in 2002, graduating Cum Laude. She is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Workers’ Compensation Lawyers Association, and the Chicago Bar Association. Outside of work, Ms. Jagodzinski enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and three children.
